Gemini in Google Drive answers questions about files in a folder or across the whole Drive: it finds a contract by its content, condenses several PDFs into a summary, compares versions and shows which file the answer came from. It opens as a side panel on the Drive page and in the PDF viewer. It helps when documents have piled up in shared folders for years and finding one by name no longer works.

Pitfalls to watch at work
- Gemini answers from the files the user can access: if folder rights are handed out broadly, an employee will see other people's payroll in an answer
- It reads scans without a text layer poorly: run OCR on them before searching
- An answer drawn from several files may mix up contract versions: check the file date and name in the link
