Claude not working: six causes and what to do

Symptoms

• claude.ai says the service is unavailable in your region

Causes and fixes

1. Your VPN routes you through a country where Claude is unavailable

What to do: Turn off the VPN or pick a server in a supported country and reload the page

2. An outage on Anthropic's side at peak hours

What to do: Check status.claude.com; during an outage work in ChatGPT or Gemini

3. The service rejects the phone number used to verify the account

What to do: If the code does not arrive, try again in 15 minutes or sign in with a Google account

4. A corporate network blocks the claude.ai and anthropic.com domains

What to do: Check from mobile internet and ask the admin to allow these domains

5. The age in the profile is under 18: Claude is for adults

6. A browser extension breaks the interface
