ChatGPT is a chat with OpenAI models that writes, edits, translates, calculates on uploaded files and searches the web. For office roles the key modes are data analysis on Excel and CSV files, work with PDFs and photos of documents, Deep Research for long reviews, and Projects for recurring tasks that use the same files. It answers fluently in dozens of languages and the interface is localized. Paid plans add memory across chats, higher limits and access to stronger models.

On the free and personal paid plans, chats may be used for training by default: in Settings, Data controls, turn off Improve the model for everyone before your first work task
Employee names and tax IDs, account details, amounts and contract terms go into the chat only anonymized: replace them with [Employee 1], [Counterparty], [X]
The model invents statute numbers, court decisions and links in a confident tone: check every such fact in the primary source
A long chat with dozens of files starts mixing up numbers between documents: start each new task in a new chat or a Project

Billing

Card payment on the website, or in the app through the App Store or Google Play. VAT or sales tax is added at checkout in many countries. Declines usually happen when the bank blocks foreign subscriptions or online payments are off: enable them in your banking app and confirm 3-D Secure.
